I’ll never read the backlog of books I’ve accumulated as it is and yet I constantly add MORE books to my collection. They teeter in stacks and clog my bookshelves, causing them to bow in the middle. I’ve got a soft spot for French literature: Gide and Proust and
Camus. When will I have time to untangle their intricate passages and divine hidden messages? If I had a hundred more years I still couldn’t manage to read half the books I own. Buying books at this point is a compulsive, irrational act. Mea culpa…

i still swear my books multiply like bunnies in the night. i couldn’t have possibly bought all of them myself. it doesn’t hurt that i can’t bear to part with any of them of course.
